Virginia is one of the states with the strictest traffic regulations and, in turn, those governing driver’s licenses. Since 2014, people over 75 are no longer allowed to renew this document online and must do so in person.

Another notable change is the reduction in the number of years a license is valid. Generally, DMV authorities update the document for 8 years, but older drivers must repeat the process every 4 years.
