In the United States, the official holiday calendar includes a total of 11 holiday dates intended to commemorate events of national and international significance.

During these days, customers of financial institutions such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo should keep in mind that all branches lower their shutters and remain closed, so in-person transactions will be suspended.

In this context, Memorial Day will soon be observed, one of the holidays on the schedule, so during that day only online transactions or ATM services will be allowed.

Ahead of next Monday, May 25, both banks announced in their official calendars that their offices and branches will remain closed to the public in observance of Memorial Day.

Which transactions can be carried out during these 24 hours of closure

It is important to note that, despite the branch closure, the various ATMs of both banks will operate normally for basic transactions such as cash withdrawals, balance inquiries, transfers, etc.

In addition, the banks’ online services will also remain active, although it is advisable to check the website in each case to find out which services will be available and which ones could experience delays.

Both institutions will keep their doors closed during the remaining days included in the federal calendar, which are:

  • Juneteenth: June 19
  • Independence Day: July 4
  • Labor Day: September 7
  • Columbus Day: October 12
  • Veterans Day: November 11
  • Thanksgiving: November 26
  • Christmas: December 25

Government offices and various private-sector businesses will also remain inactive.
